About Desi Maap

Desi Maap (“Indian measures”) is a free set of converters for the units that come up in Indian homes: cups of atta and besan, grams and carats of gold, and square feet, gaj, acres and local land units.

Who it is for

Home cooks working from recipes written in cups, people reading a jewellery bill, and anyone comparing plot or flat sizes quoted in different units. The site is written for adults and older students; it is not designed for young children.

Who publishes it

Desi Maap is published by ISHAA ESPORTS AND MOTORSPORTS LLP, India. It is independent and is not affiliated with USDA, NIST, the Bureau of Indian Standards or any state government.

How the content is made

Researched and drafted with AI assistance, checked against the sources cited on each page; publisher review recorded in our corrections log.

Every factor and weight is linked to the source it came from, and the method page explains how we calculate and round. Where we could not open an official source, we leave the figure out instead of estimating it.

Money

The site carries no advertising. The measuring tools page links to Amazon.in search results; see the affiliate disclosure for whether those links earn anything.
